FPV simulator in your browser
Do your first flying drills without installing anything: plug in your radio over USB, use the keyboard or fly with your fingers. Stay in the air, fly figure eights between flags and go through the course gates.
Your browser can’t display 3D graphics (WebGL). Try another browser or turn on hardware acceleration.
Drone settings and rates
Actual-type rates, like Betaflight’s. If you use another type, convert them with the rates converter: its share link also opens this simulator with the same rates if you choose Actual.
How to control it
With your radio
This is the best option: you train with the same hands and the same sticks. Connect it over USB and, when the radio asks, choose “USB Joystick (HID)”. Then press “Calibrate the radio” and follow the instructions.
With the keyboard
W/S throttle, A/D yaw, arrow keys to tilt, R to reset. It’s fine for getting to know the field, but to really learn you need a stick.
With your fingers
On a phone or tablet two sticks appear: the left one is throttle (it stays where you leave it) and yaw; the right one tilts the drone and springs back to the centre.
A training plan
Stay in the air
In Angle mode with the view from the ground, keep yourself inside the yellow circle. Once it comes easily, do it in FPV view.
Figure eights between flags
Follow the yellow dot around the two flags. First in Angle; when you can do five in a row without hitting anything, switch to Acro.
Gate circuit
In Acro, fly through the gates in order. Don’t rush: one clean lap is worth more than a fast one with a crash.
Move on to a full simulator
This is a field to get started. For the real hours, use a full simulator (see Simulators) with the same rates.
The physics is simplified: it’s for understanding the controls and building muscle memory, not for tuning your drone. If FPV view makes you dizzy, take breaks and lower the camera angle.
