Clubs and flying fields

Places to fly with other pilots. We only publish fields that have the owner’s permission and are outside restricted zones.

There are no clubs or fields on the list yet. If you know one, suggest it.

Write to us with the name, the date (if it’s an event), the town, a one-sentence description and, if it has one, the website. We review every suggestion before publishing it.

How to organise a meet-up

  1. Choose the place

A field with the owner’s permission, away from bystanders, roads and power lines, and outside zones that need authorisation. Check it on the ENAIRE drone map and go over Safety and regulations.

  2. Share out the channels

List the pilots and video systems and run it through the channel planner. Share the plan with the group before the day.

  3. Set out the area

A pilot area behind a line or a net, a flying area in front and a walkway for retrieving drones. Nobody crosses the flying area while drones are in the air.

  4. Fly in heats

If there are more pilots than clean channels, fly in heats. One person in charge calls when to arm and when to land.

  5. Time laps, if you like

With a lap timer and a simple track, the meet-up becomes a friendly race.

  6. Bring what you need

First-aid kit, a fireproof bag and an extinguisher, water and shade. Print the field cards for everyone.

If the meet-up is open to the public or is a competition, find out which authorisations and insurance you need. A federation or an experienced club can help you.
